Historic Resources Surveys

When a government or community wishes to catalog its historic building tradition, an architectural survey can be completed to gather the necessary data. Historic architectural surveys typically span a large area within a community. The survey documentation includes the location of the historic building, classification of style/type, representative photographs, and preliminary analysis of significance.

Our architectural history staff is equipped to provide the varying levels of detailed architectural survey and to compile those findings into digital and print documents. Additionally, architectural survey is the basis for National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) documentation and is performed as a fundamental step toward Section 106/110 compliance.
